Job TitleSenior Product Manager, Ad CreationJob DescriptionAbout the Position:As the Senior Product Manager for Ad Creation, you will drive product strategy, development, and execution for our ad creation platforms, partner integrations, and ad performance optimization capabilities across more than 50 brands that reach over 200 million users each month. You’ll focus on initiatives within our Ad Creation Platform teams to expand performance capabilities of our ad units, such as shoppability and creative optimization. You’ll report to the Director of Product, Ad Creation and partner with GMs, sales, ad product marketing, campaign analytics, data science, ad & programmatic operations, product managers, engineering, and other relevant stakeholders to develop and execute a robust product strategy that leverages our unique capabilities: data science, beautiful design, and respectful monetization. You’ll help millions of users find answers, solve problems, and get inspired across Dotdash Meredith’s portfolio of award-winning brands by developing innovative advertising platform capabilities, integrations, and implementations.In-office Expectations:

This position offers remote work flexibility; however, if you reside within a commutable distance to one of our offices in New York, Des Moines, Birmingham, Los Angeles, Chicago, or Seattle, the expectation is to work from the office three times per month.About the Positions Contributions:Planning and Alignment:

Develop and review your product roadmap and strategy with Sales Leadership, Ad Product Marketing, product managers, and other senior management team members.

Developing Strategy:

Contribute to developing a big-picture product strategy for meeting user needs, selling it, and then working out the details to get the plan over the finish line.

Directing Work & Results:

Congratulate the scrum team on the release of an awesome new product/feature.

Cultivating Innovation:

Discover new features and strategies that will help users take action and drive more revenue for our sites. Explore and propose new ad formats that can drive user action and engagement, while exciting advertisers.

Financial Acumen:

Understand the key performance and financial indicators of advertising across the brands and what fluctuations or volatility in those metrics could mean to the business and our systems. Use financial analysis to evaluate and prioritize strategic opportunities. Generate reports and dashboards to measure success of initiatives.

Tech Savvy:

Evaluate performance of digital ad serving, programmatic, and measurement integrations and partners to identify optimizations. Participate in competitor and vendor discovery and support “build vs. buy” analysis.

Collaborating:

Coordinate with fellow Product Managers and Technology Leaders on the sequence of a cross-team project. Facilitate conversations and efforts to make our ad delivery as fast and efficient as possible to provide for a great user experience.

Managing Complexity:

Collaborate on studies of users on the sites, engaging with advertising products, and analyze what’s working and what’s not. Analyze the user flow and define products that help users take action and deepen advertiser brand engagement. Acquire data from multiple/diverse sources to solve problems and make informed data-driven decisions.

Optimizing Work Processes:

Facilitate process definition and define business rules by partnering with internal teams responsible for pre-sales, sales activation, and post-sales. A/B test optimizations to drive ad performance.

Communicating Effectively:

Walk an engineer and a designer through product requirements. Partner with Ad Product Marketing to teach the revenue operations, sales, and production teams how to use and/or sell a new product/feature.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:Education: BA/BS/BSE or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Human-Computer Interaction Design, or equivalent experience.Experience: 5+ years in Product Management roles.Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:5+ years of experience in hands-on product management, preferably in ad tech or a related industry.

You have deep knowledge of what makes for great user and advertising experiences because you’ve done this before, e.g. experience at a premium, digital publisher, ad tech platform, or digital media agency.

You have excellent data analysis and data-driven decision making skills, as well as familiarity with building revenue models.

You are comfortable digging into developer tools to analyze code performance and diagnose potential problems.

You have a passion for figuring out user problems and pain points.

You’re able to juggle the needs of multiple brand and audience categories and develop strategic product plans for each of them.

You’re excellent at communicating and collaborating with a wide range of teams and stakeholders to build great products.

You possess an innate desire to collect, synthesize, and analyze data to inform your strategy.

You have strong analytical and prioritization skills and experience applying them in the development of a product roadmap.

You’re fluent in Agile principles and methodology, and not afraid to jump in as the Product Owner or Scrum Master for a team.

Preferred:Three (3) or more years of experience in ad platforms or retail media focused on desktop and mobile display, native, and video, strongly preferred.

You have a solid understanding of the digital ad serving, tracking, and measurement technology ecosystem.

You have worked directly with revenue operations, production/sales activation teams, and/or advertising clients.

Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
