US Ambassador Lead

Runna, Boston, Massachusetts, us, 02298

US Ambassador Lead We're putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners We help everyday runners become outstanding by providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. To date we have built iOS, Android and Apple watch apps that help people achieve their goals by coaching them through the full journey and syncing to their favourite fitness devices.

We’re growing extremely fast and in November 2023 closed a new $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. We want to grow as fast as we can into the future and are looking for individuals who will help us get there. For more about our background and growth check out our Careers Page!

We’re now looking ahead to the future and the people who want to help us build and scale Runna. Our aim is to reach millions of subscribers in the next 5 years and be the go-to training platform for any runner. Now is a magical time to join, we're still small, and everyone makes a foundational difference.

Who we’re looking for We are looking for an exceptional proactive, passionate, personable and driven individual to lead our US ambassador channel - a key growth area for Runna. This role ideally will be based in our Boston office (minimum 2x days a week) and will be crucial to expanding the work we do with ambassadors in the US.

Across the past two years, we’ve built an industry-leading ambassador programme in the UK, forming strong, long-term partnerships with many major UK-running content creators including: Anna Archer, Savannah Sachdev and Hazel Wallace. Now that we’ve solidified ambassadors as a key growth channel for Runna, we want to scale our programme across the US and continue building exciting new partnerships with new creators.

As our US Ambassador Lead, you will own the US P&L and be responsible for driving amazing results for one of our key growth channels. Your role will include:

1) Developing and Executing the US Ambassadors Strategy

You will be responsible for deciding who we should be targeting, how much we should invest in them and what content we want them to create.

You’ll work cross-functionally with the partnerships, events, social content and product teams to ensure we have our ambassadors at key races, across our socials and truly championing the product in their own content.

2) Winning (and managing) new ambassadors, and maximising existing ambassador relationships

You will work to expand the ambassador portfolio in the US. This will involve bringing in new ambassadors (using existing contacts and “cold” outreach), leading commercial negotiations, and building strong, empathetic relationships with talent and their management that drive meaningful ROI into the channel.

You will be responsible for working with the team to ensure our US ambassadors LOVE working with us such that we have a reputation as the #1 brand to work within the industry.

You’ll work closely with Caitlin (Head of Ambassadors) to analyse and measure the effectiveness of the type of ambassadors and deliverables

3) Leading and scaling the US Ambassador Team

You’ll be managing a talented and expanding team (currently 1x team member based in Boston, and 2x UK team members spending a chunk of their time on US onboarding). We expect you to drive team growth and ensure that all team members are developing, learning, and achieving their full potential.

What experience we’re looking for If you don’t quite meet all of the below skills, we’d still love to hear from you as we might be able to tweak the role slightly or offer you a position better suited for you. You can apply directly below or contact us if you’re still unsure.

Your key skills: 2+ years working in ambassador management or 3+ years experience in broader role (e.g., partnerships, marketing, or strategy consulting)

About you:

You’re a “doer”; not just a “thinker”. You’re hands-on and want to roll up your sleeves / get stuck in (you have a real ‘go get it’ attitude)

You’re personable and love talking to people!

You’re organised and efficient.

You have experience successfully negotiating commercial deals that drive strong ROI

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

You’re fun and (hopefully!) like running!
