As part of a multidisciplinary treatment team they provide medication dispensing, administration, and monitoring and respond to urgent health concerns (within the scope of their practice) and engage in nursing case management.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $84.78 - $109.85 (Hourly Rate).Department DescriptionThe San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) is dedicated to providing services that integrate medical, psychiatric, and addiction treatment. SFGH is the largest provider of acute psychiatric care and the only San Francisco provider of psychiatric emergency care.Required QualificationsOne (1) year of RN experience working with substance abuse users, chronically mentally ill and homeless populationsExcellent documentation and clinical skills, ability to set priorities, work independently, excellent follow-up, work well under pressure and deadlines.Experience working with chronically severely mentally ill adultsExperience working with HIV positive clients, LGBT clients, substance using clientsKnowledge of routine primary care, urgent care and referral as needed for specialty medical careAbility to work with a team as well as independentlyEffective communication skills to both receive and give informationAbility to walk one-quarter mile; ability to climb four flights of stairs; have adequate vision to describe contents of a room, client condition etc.Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly by cell phone while in the fieldKnowledge of ethical, legal and confidentiality issues pertaining to people with substance use, severe medical and/or mental illness.Knowledge of psychiatric medications, mental health interventions, and harm reduction interventionsDemonstrated excellent attendance and reliablePreferred QualificationsUC experienceBilingual in English and SpanishLicense/CertificationCA Registered Nurse licenseValid CA Drivers LicenseCurrent AHA CPR CertificationAbout UCSFThe University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care.
