Sr. CAD Designer
San Jose, CA - Onsite Only
Rate: $60 to $65 an hour with partial benefits
Our team is seeking a CAD Designer for creative innovation for practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and designs.
Do you have experience working with components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity? Are you ready to join our engineering team and ready to work with vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers on design specifications?
Impact:
Ensures designs are free of layout process defects.
May assist engineers with defining design standards and configurations.
Applies Computer Aided Design (CAD) methodologies, theories, and techniques.
Reviews various completed engineering documents to ensure designs meet Standards set aside by the client
Compliance with engineering and military standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
Skills, Experience, and Education required:
Creo 7 experience
Develops innovative concepts for functional and operational requirements
Ensures that CAD models can easily transition to modeling and simulation software. Prepares the most complex design layouts, schematics, or sketches
Minimum of 9 years of design/drafting experience using Pro-E/Creo CAD system
An Associate Degree
Skills Preferred
Experience with MBD (Model Based Definition) is a big plus.
Working knowledge of production methods and understanding of human factors.
Combat Vehicle Experience
Prepares drawing packages to military or equivalent ASME standards.
Checks completed layouts, drawings, test plans, test reports, procedures, and change history documentation (e.g., engineering change notices) for clarity, completeness, conformance to engineering, military, and industrial standards, procedures, specifications, and codes, and ensures accuracy of calculations and dimensions.
Coordinates closely with systems engineers to ensure designs satisfy contractual requirements.
Evaluates completed drawings, specifications, and procedures for producibility and viability of design, appropriateness of tolerances, fits, finishes, materials, and validates integration of equipment.
Proficient in tolerance analysis and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficient in use of applicable CAD equipment and drafting techniques including 3D modeling and manipulation of files.
Comprehensive knowledge of military drawings and specifications, and applicable MILSPEC/STD's.
This is an E-Verify role due to ITAR requirements, this role is a W-2 opportunity. We are not able to work with third party vendors. Due to International Trade Agreements, this role requires United States Citizenship or Naturalization.
