are seeking
a Headache Specialist Neurologist.
The position involves clinical care, research, and teaching medical students and neurology residents as well as leadership in further development of the division.Ours is a collaborative atmosphere that allows practicing advanced medicine in a highly satisfying environment. We do so by recruiting some of the finest physicians from across the country - men and women who are often recognized leaders in their specialty or subspecialty; investing heavily in new technology; practicing - and frequently developing - the latest techniques and placing the highest emphasis on achieving great quality outcomes. Candidates will join an active team including neurologists, neuropathologists, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists for collaboration in the areas of patient care, research and education.The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute , led by Dr. Ali Rezai, is expanding to include the clinical, research, and academic missions of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, among others. The Institute will spearhead efforts to develop innovative solutions for West Virginians and those across the world with neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging fromAlzheimer's to Parkinson's; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.
The Department of Neurology
offers patients a full spectrum of innovative therapies for neurologic disease, including stroke, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, headache, immunology, and movement disorders. WVU is a Joint Commission approved Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Center.Morgantown, West Virginia is located just over an hour south of Pittsburgh, PA and three and one-half hours from Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. Morgantown is consistently rated as one of the best small metropolitan areas in the country for both lifestyle and business climate.The area offers the cultural diversity and amenities of a large city in a safe, family-friendly environment. There is also an excellent school system and an abundance of beautiful homes and recreational activities.Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) with fellowship training or experience in headache medicine and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license.
