Neurosurgeon

(ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Bridgeport, WV.Duties:

The successful candidate will practice in the area of neurosurgery. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. The neurosurgeon's responsibilities include managing operative cases that include general cranial, spine, and peripheral nerve procedures; manage non-operative clinical care of patients with brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerve disease; and assist the hospital leadership in organizing and delivering neurosurgically related health care to patients through the nursing and ancillary staff at UHC. Specifically, this includes being able at a minimum to perform routine cervical and lumbar spine discectomy and fusion surgeries, address basic uncomplicated brain tumors and neurosurgical cranial emergencies (cranial trauma, stroke, or shunt malfunction).Qualifications:

Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical licensure. The successful candidate must have completed a neurosurgery residency program and must be board certified/eligible in neurosurgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.The
