The mission of Trinity Boston Connects is to heal the traumatic impact of systemic racism on youth of color in Boston and create a more equitable city in which they can thrive. The integration of these practices forms the basis of our three pathways and their programming: Youth Development and Leadership (Trinity Education for Excellence Program (TEEP), Sole Train: Boston Runs Together), Clinical Care (Trinity Boston Counseling Center, Trinity@RuthBatson), and Organizational Change (Organizational Equity Practice) serving youth, youth workers and other youth-serving organizations throughout the City of Boston. Through these healing pathways and programs, we directly serve 1000+ youth of color, 240+ youth workers, and 600+ leaders from 40+ youth serving organizations in Boston.TBC has a staff of 11 and an annual budget of $3 million. TBC is led by a Black woman with a staff that is majority persons of color. An independent 19-member Board of Directors (BOD) governs TBC and is very engaged in supporting all philanthropic efforts.The MomentIn January 2021, the BOD approved a comprehensive strategic multi-year plan to achieve deeper and broader impact in the community through clearer focus and increased integration of our offerings. Starting now, TBC will initiate the implementation of this strategy, with new roles and greater collaboration and integration, all with the aim of better, more holistic support for the youth and organizations that we serve. The YDL Pathway Director will be key to this new strategy!The PositionReporting to the Chief Program Officer, the inaugural YDL Pathway Director will spearhead the integration of TBC’s two direct-service youth programs: Sole Train: Boston Runs to Remember and TEEP (Trinity Education for Excellence Program). The ideal candidate will have a passion for youth empowerment, a strong background in program management, and the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team. This role requires strategic vision, operational expertise, a growth mindset, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for youth participants and volunteers.RESPONSIBILITIESProgram Leadership & Management· Build and implement a year-long integrated program model that fully incorporates the best practices of Sole Train and TEEP· Oversee the strategic integration and day-to-day operations of Sole Train and TEEP· Develop and implement pathway goals, objectives, and outcomes in alignment with TBC’s mission and strategic plan· Hire, supervise and support program staff, providing professional development opportunities, regular feedback, and evaluation on performance, and fostering a positive, inclusive team cultureCommunity Engagement and Partnerships· Build and maintain effective partnerships with local schools, youth centers and community organizations to enhance program delivery and impact· Collaborate with external partners to secure resources, funding, and opportunities for youth participants and adult volunteers· Represent TBC in community forums, conferences, and events focused on youth development and leadership to promote TBC’s mission and YDL pathway·Evaluation and Reporting· In partnership with external evaluator, SEED Impact, administer evaluation tools to measure pathway effectiveness and impact· Use data to inform continuous improvement and strategic planning for pathway development, sustainability, and future growth· Prepare and present regular written and oral reports to TBC leadership, funders, and stakeholders on pathway progress and outcomes4.
Fundraising and Resource Development· Collaborate with Development and Communications team to create grant proposals, reports, and other fundraising materials to support pathway operations and growth· With the support of the CPO and Finance team, manage program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals· Work with the Development and Communication team to secure individual sponsorships for the Rodman Ride for Kids and the Sole Train 5k community eventQualifications· 4-6+ years of youth development and leadership, education, or nonprofit program management experience.· Professional experience and demonstrated success in developing youth programs, particularly those serving diverse and underserved populations· Demonstrated commitment to social justice with the ability to talk about systemic racism and oppression especially within the context of TBC’s mission.· Bachelor’s degree required and or 5+ years of applicable experience, master’s degree a plus and or 7+ years of applicable experience.· Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers· Highly organized with strong project management and meeting facilitation skills.· Excellent written and oral communications skills.· Ability to develop strong relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.· Ability to maintain composure under pressure and prioritize among competing needs.· Knowledge of social emotional learning skills and community practices of racial equity, restorative justice, and trauma-informed care a plus.· High level of digital literacy across various platforms required· Humble, self-directed, professional, resourceful style; ability to work independently and as a collaborator, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects.TO APPLY:Please email a resume and cover letter to Aka Denjongpa (aka@trinityconnects.org).
