Job Description:As an Azure Network Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network solutions with a focus on Azure networking services. You will ensure high availability, scalability, and security of both on-premises and cloud-based network systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to contribute to cloud migration strategies, optimize performance, and enhance overall network architecture. Your expertise in Azure networking and traditional network environments will be key in maintaining a robust and secure infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network solutions (LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls) with a focus on Azure networking services like VNets, Azure Firewall, NSGs, and ExpressRouteIntegrate on-premises network infrastructure with Azure environments, ensuring smooth connectivity, security, and performanceManage and optimize Azure networking components, including VNet peering, load balancing, traffic management, and hybrid networking (ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway)Diagnose and resolve network issues in both cloud and on-prem environments to minimize downtime and performance degradationImplement best practices for network security, including firewalls, VPNs, security groups, and intrusion detection/prevention systemsAutomate network configuration and monitoring using tools like Azure Network Watcher, Azure Automation, and PowerShell scriptingMonitor and optimize network performance in cloud and on-prem environments, identifying opportunities for improvementMaintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidesProvide mentorship and guidance to peers, driving continuous improvement in network operations
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
5+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience with Azure networking servicesBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Network Engineer Associate) and/or Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirableStrong understanding of Azure networking components like VNets, NSGs, Load Balancer, Azure Traffic Manager, ExpressRoute, and VPN GatewayExpertise in configuring and managing enterprise-grade network equipment (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto)Solid understanding of network security principles and experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologiesProficiency in network automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, ARM templates, Terraform)Familiarity with monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Azure Network Watcher, SolarWinds, and WiresharkStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
Desired Skills:
Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integrating Azure with AWS or GCPFamiliarity with Kubernetes networking and containerized environmentsExperience with SD-WAN technologies
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
