Job Summary
Gates Corporation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President/GM, for its North American Power Transmission ('PT') business, ensuring operational excellence across 5 regional manufacturing facilities with full P&L responsibility. The right candidate will be responsible for developing the NA Power Transmission business strategy, building organizational capability, and delivering product line growth and profitability objectives. This key leadership position will report to the President, Americas and have full accountability for the PT North American business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive Power Transmission business strategy that aligns with the Americas region goals and vision for growth and profitability. Lead a cross functional team including operations, PLM, engineering, and marketing communications to develop/implement new product designs and features, working closely with segment sales teams on growth strategy implementation. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Americas region PT markets (automotive replacement and industrial OEM & replacement markets) and product offerings, Financial Management: manage the financial performance for a strong, sizable, growing regional PT business, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation, with an in-depth understanding of the drivers of financial performance. Plant Operations: lead all operational aspects of 5 PT manufacturing facilities to achieve financial targets and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and working capital efficiency, with ~2,300 total headcount. Drive additional strategic initiatives including pricing, 80/20, NPI, and channel programs across a complex, dynamic PT portfolio with various go-to-market channels and end markets. Drive profitability and market competitiveness through consistent, structured cost reduction programs and a culture of continuous improvement. Foster collaboration and alignment across stakeholders within Gates to ensure necessary tools and processes to drive a well-defined plan for PT NA sustainable growth. Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team, setting clear goals and expectations while promoting a culture of teamwork, ownership and accountability. Foster strong relationships with key customers, understand their needs (VOC), and ensure the delivery of innovative products and services on a timely basis. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies. Identify and manage potential risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to make informed business decisions. Develop pipeline for M&A and partnership opportunities, including target relationship development. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Proven Track Record Managing >$500M in an industrial manufacturing GM role, with multi-function, multi-site responsibility. 15+ years of commercial, product management, operational experience. Experience in product development and industrialization of products in the manufacturing environment a plus. Skills
