About the Team

Business Analytics provides end-to-end analytical and application solutions to HR, Care Center, Corporate, Supply Chain, and Global business partners in WSI. The team consists of analysts and full-stack engineers that serve business partners, leadership, and external stakeholders. Leveraging both business acumen and technical skills, the team is involved in high impact and high visibility business enablement, analytical, and platform migration projects.

About the Role

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with full-stack analytical and web application experience. This role is an instrumental resource to both business stakeholders and the team in identifying business problems, recommending solutions, driving projects, developing ETL pipelines and data warehouse jobs, creating and administering self-service dashboards and providing business insights. The role will help drive, implement, scale and rollout Business Analytics roadmap projects which includes but are not limited to tech modernization from SQL Server to Snowflake, creating business apps (ex: Merit app), and contributing to advanced analytics efforts (ex: Associate Opinion Survey).

Responsibilities

Design and develop SQL pipelines that are optimized for greater flexibility and reuse in the HR data warehouse.

Support incoming and outgoing vendor feeds with PGP encryption.

Support data feeds from Enterprise Data Warehouse used for retail reporting.

Partner with ESRE/Stores team on retail associate-related data.

Maintain and troubleshoot automated jobs that will ensure HR data warehouse stability.

Create, update and monitor SSIS and Python jobs.

Build, manage and optimize the HR data warehouse pipelines, automated jobs, and integrations that enable downstream self-service dashboard and data feeds.

Maintain and enhance critical store associate reporting such as Sales per Hour, Presidents Club, and Registry.

Produce dashboards for HR and senior leadership for associate opinion surveys.

Build/Enhance templates for annual total reward statements for domestic and global businesses.

Develop data flows, reports, dashboards, and analysis through BI tools (Power BI, SSRS and SQL) with close attention to data accuracy and correct formatting.

Work closely with business partners and stakeholders to understand business processes, gathering requirements, facilitating tech discussions, providing insights, and building data models that have data integrity, align with business needs, maintain SLAs and enable self-service analytics.

Criteria

5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.

Ability to create, maintain, and tune complex SQL queries in MS SQL and Snowflake. Azure experience is a plus.

Experience with Web UI development using .NET. Console experience is a plus.

Experience with automation scripting and building ETL pipelines utilizing SSIS, Power Automate, and Python. C#, SnowPipe or Azure Data Factory experience is a plus.

Experience with Power BI dashboard development, user provisioning and workspace administration. Other BI tools such as SSRS or Crystal Reports is a plus.

Expert database skills: querying, manipulating, summarizing, and analyzing data.

Strong data-driven, analytical, project management, organizational and efficiency skills with ability to solve problems while striking the right balance of tactical vs. strategic.

Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audience at all levels within the organization.

This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco office Monday through Thursday and Friday as optional in the office.
