Job Mission

HMI Development and Engineering (D&E) teams consist of several departments of talented electron-optics, physical, software, performance, applications, mechanical, electrical, materials conditioning, and mechatronics engineers working on the development of the latest and most advanced electron-beam inspection and metrology equipment for semiconductor applications. We are looking for a Head of HMI Design and Engineering to manage the global organization and work with other functions like supply chain, manufacturing, and Customer Service to develop and deliver our e-beam products to customers around the world.

Role and Responsibilities

Manages and mentors multiple department managers in D&E with a global footprint.

Establishes and implements the strategic direction of the company’s (E-Beam) engineering and development initiatives for specific improvement areas.

Develops functional strategic plans and competence roadmaps for key areas of interest, and proposals to improve the skill level in engineering of ASML’s E-Beam products.

Collaborates with the company’s executive leadership to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems.

Identifies, recommends, and implements new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making.

Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in engineering and development related to the organization’s industry.

Builds and maintains a high skill level in engineering of ASML products.

Develops and enforces engineering practices and design rules, consistent with corporate objectives.

Develops organizational capabilities through the definition and execution of training plans for direct reports.

May provide advanced management direction on a complex technical subject matter area (as with a cross-program, cross-department, or system-level performance issues).

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.

Experience with high tech systems development especially in the semiconductor capital equipment sector a plus.

Experience with metrology systems and electron beam technology a plus.

Skills

Other Information

This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings, and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration, and innovation.

Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

May require travel (domestic and international) dependent on business needs.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
