ABOUT N STREET VILLAGEEstablished 50 years ago, N Street Village is a community of hope, healing, and recovery. We support women in Washington, D.C. who are experiencing homelessness by offering a broad spectrum of services, housing, and advocacy in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. We empower women to achieve stability and make meaningful gains in their housing, income, employment, mental health, physical health, and addiction recovery goals. Our goal is to ensure that every woman in Washington, D.C. has a safe place to call home and to be a leader in citywide efforts to “make homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring.” Recognizing the collective impact of what we can accomplish together, N Street Village provides guidance, leadership, and advocacy to our partners The DC Department of Human Services and The Community Partnership as they make decisions around homelessness and housing across the District of Columbia.N Street Village is a unique provider because within our wholistic approach to healing and empowerment; we have the entire continuum of housing within our portfolio. We have supportive services, interim housing, and permanent housing. www.nstreetvillage.org .OVERALL OBJECTIVEN Street Village is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead its fundraising strategy and operations, with a significant focus on expanding the organization’s major donor program and foundation funding streams. The CDO will serve as an integral member of the leadership team and will drive revenue growth, build the development department’s staff and systems, and serve as a thought leader with the CEO and Board of Directors.POSITION SUMMARYWorking closely with the CEO, the CDO will serve as a key ambassador for the organization, building and deepening engagement with donors and driving broader awareness and philanthropic support. The position helps forge relationships to build N Street Village's visibility, impact, and financial resources. Additionally, the CDO will participate in the development of a long-term sustainability plan.The right candidate will have proven success in major donor/high net-worth individual (HNWI) cultivation and stewardship, events, corporate and foundation fundraising, digital fundraising and communications, and volunteer engagement. The CDO will report directly to the CEO and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Board of Directors, and other organizational leaders.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:Reporting to the President and CEO, the Chief Development Officer serves as a member of the Executive Team and supervises a team of seven with three direct reports: Manager, Donor Relations, Senior Communications Manager, and Development Director. Historically, the development team has generated more than $2 million annually.
