SUMMARYLive Oak is hiring for a lower school division director (LSDD) to start July 1, 2025.Live Oak School, a K-8 independent school in the heart of urban San Francisco, believes that the best learning happens when students are actively engaged in the process — thinking deeply, exploring ideas, and trying on strategies for solving problems. Full-time, ExemptSPECIFIC DUTIESDivisional OversightLead the lower school faculty in the implementation of an identity responsive educational program.Ensure the implementation of a cohesive and engaging program for lower school students.Oversee formative and summative assessments of student performance.Faculty & Staff LeadershipSupport the professional growth of the lower school faculty.Plan and lead meetings with faculty that support student success.Contribute to the supervision and evaluation of the lower school faculty.Partner on the recruitment and support of new faculty.External AffairsBuild strong relationships with parents, guardians, and students.Partner with other administrators in planning community experiences.Support parents and guardians in understanding the school’s purpose and programs.Support the admissions office in recruiting and retaining new students.QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIESQualificationsBachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.Understanding of child development.Leadership experience in curriculum and/or pedagogy.Experience guiding parents and guardians.Multiple years of experience as an elementary or middle school teacher.Professional & Leadership QualitiesCapacity to build supportive relationships.Empathetic, joyful, inclusive, and mission-driven leadership style.Interest in developing leadership capacity.Belief in Live Oak’s mission.TO APPLYFor more information please visit the following link, which contains the job opportunity statement and complete application instructions.
