Angel Tree Worker

Pay Range: $12.00 - $14.00
About this opportunity:
Coordinates and attends special events for the Angel Tree Program; managing the Angel Tree Table at area Angel Tree sits in local malls, shopping centers, etc. Creates and maintains files, on individuals or groups, who have selected angel tags, collect returning gifts and ensuring correct angel tags are attached. Will provide Corps officers with regular updates.
Key responsibilities:Communicates the purpose and mission of the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program to individuals and groups; ensuring they are informed of expectations of purchases and appropriate return timeframe.Develops and maintains a record-keeping system in order to retain contact information and their angel tag numbers; and ensure the data is organized, easily interpretated and accessible by other office staff and the corps officer, with approved access.Coordinates and schedules volunteers and staff that attend and staff Angel Tree table, as approved by the Corps Officer; and makes sure appropriate back-up or replacements are present for each shift. Directs the closing person to ensure the Angel Tree table is organized and secured before leaving.In consultation with the Corps Officer, creates and prepares marketing materials and filing needs.What we are looking for in you:
High school diploma or G.E.D; ANDTwo years' experience working in a social or public service environment with experience assisting the public; ORAny equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work may be performed in a normal office environment within a climate-controlled structure. There are little, or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, and dirt.
