SUMMARY
Responsible for managing larger commercial credits. Ensures the portfolio achieves soundness, probability, and growth objectives. Provides credit, underwriting, and sales support in the Commercial Lending function to maximize portfolio performance. Serves as the secondary contact on client relationships.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in finance and accounting preferred7-10 years of experience in financial services related to various aspects of commercial lendingPossess extensive knowledge of credit policy, banking regulations, and loan documentation issuesProven ability to spread, analyze, and interpret complex business and personal financial statements and tax returnsStrong analytical skills in prospecting individual and global relationships, clients, and prospectsSolid ability to identify strengths and weaknesses of individual requests and make recommendations to address and mitigate perceived risksActively prepare and present credit analysis packages through the credit approval chainPossess an extensive knowledge of various loan structures with ability to apply this knowledge to formulate of sound credit recommendationsExcellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to understand and convey complex information clearly and efficiently to varied audiences, including senior executivesExcellent interpersonal and management skills; develop and maintain cohesive working relationshipsStrong organizational and time management skills, effectively set priorities in a performance-driven environmentFully understand and work effectively within the credit culture of the company; ability to promote credit culture within the teamAdvanced proficiency with internal systems and reportingExcellent mathematical, reading comprehension, and writing skillsParticipate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.JOB FUNCTIONS
Works with lenders to manage all aspects of the local loan portfolio including annual reviews, past dues, BBRs, covenant compliance, CARs, collateral exceptions, and other portfolio management toolsWorks in concert with local President, Commercial Lending Division Manager, and Regional Credit Officer to ensure proper risk profile of subject market loan portfolioMaintains credit authority as delegated by Regional PresidentDirectly manages, as both a player and a coach, a market level team of credit specialists, portfolio managers, and analystsTriage, manage, and delegate workflow with Portfolio Specialists in preparation of LARs, credit memos, spread, and related documentsActively participates and assists in all aspects of the loan process including calling, underwriting, presenting through the credit approval chain, and closingIdentifies and collects all relevant information required to analyze credit requestsPrepares commitment letters and reviews loan documentsServes as secondary contact on client relationshipsIdentifies cross-sell opportunities with new and existing clients; coaches and supports team on developing relational business acumenProactively assists lenders in prospecting efforts, make calls with the lender when necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position manages employees and is responsible for the coaching, development, and performance management of those employees.

This is a full-time position that requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

This position requires up to 20% travel.
