Advertising Marketing & Promotions Associate Attorney - Senior

This senior-level position at an international AmLaw 50 firm, recognized as one of Fortune's "Best Places to Work," offers an exciting opportunity to lead significant legal initiatives in advertising, marketing, and promotions. Based predominantly in Seattle, WA, with the flexibility to work remotely, this role involves advising diverse clientele ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies across various industries. The ideal candidate will provide expansive legal counsel, manage complex transactions, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and international laws, thereby positioning our firm as a leader in consumer protection and advertising law.

Compensation:

$295,000.00 - $420,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients in the fields of advertising and marketing, ensuring compliance with the complexities of local and international law.

Structure, negotiate, and draft contracts related to advertising including but not limited to agreements with ad agencies, influencers, and celebrity endorsement deals.

Proactively handle advertising disputes including those related to false advertising, unfair competition, and conflicts before the National Advertising Division.

Review advertising and promotional materials to prevent legal exposure, assess claim substantiation, and address potential IP rights issues.

Advise on legal aspects of digital and social media marketing, including privacy issues associated with such campaigns.

Counsel clients on the legal requirements for sweepstakes and contests, loyalty programs, and various promotional events.

Assist with the training and development of junior associates within the firm.

Stay abreast of changes in laws that affect client industries and translate those insights into actionable advice.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.

Active bar admission in Washington or ability to obtain admission promptly.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions.

High proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience with a medium to large law firm.

Expertise in false advertising and competitions regime, including work before national regulatory bodies.
