L&D CHARGE RN - NIGHTS
Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, Palmer, AK, United States
Requirement: 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience required
Our Family Birthing Center is an LDRP composed of 14 rooms, which includes 6 labor rooms, 1 Antepartum room, 4 Recovery rooms, 3 triage bays, and a 3 bed well-baby nursery. We staff by AWHONN standards, and have an average of 800 births per year. We are truly a community hospital serving the ever-growing Mat-Su Borough, in addition to several villages throughout Alaska (which several are only accessible by flight). Our staff works closely together as a team, as we provide every type of care from admission all the way through postpartum. We circulate and recover our own cesarean sections (except those under general anesthesia) and our Pediatric Hospitalist group is always educating and providing support, as we are also the baby nurse. We are currently working on becoming a Level 2 nursery in the next couple of years. Of course, when the patient requires a higher level of care, we work closely with our transport teams to get them to a higher level facility. When you experience the camaraderie and compassion that our team has towards our patients, it is understandable why we maintain such a high patient satisfaction rate.
