JOB SUMMARY

The cost accountant position is responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing accounting, Product costing and inventory analysis for the manufacturing location in Magnolia, TX.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Manufacturing cost analysis: collect and analyze data on Manufacturing costs, including fixed and variable costs, supply chain expenditures to identify inefficiencies and opportunities to cost savings. Responsible for warehouse, freight and other shared resource allocations.• Product costing: maintain product cost structure, compare estimated (standard) vs actual cost and identify / explain variances by Saler order / Work order / part number. Review and process cost roll requests. Monitor direct and indirect labor hours absorbed into production, analyze actual vs standard labor rates and propose the rate adjustments as necessary.• Financial reporting: prepare and present reports to management on the Manufacturing Plant financial performance, including monthly progress reports, profit margin reports, inventory WIP and reserve analyses. Complete monthly journal entries as assigned. Supports analysis of inventory Excess and Obsolete (E&O), update E&O reserve by part based on finance guidelines.• Maintaining records: ensure the company's financial records are accurate and up to date, including the general ledger, subledgers and balance sheet transactions.• Recommending changes: use the produced analytics to recommend procedures and best practices changes to improve the company's cash flow and profitability.• Assisting with other tasks: Interacts with cross-functional teams including manufacturing operations, S&OP, Supply Chain, Engineering, central Canrig Finance team. Assist with monthly closing, yearly budgeting, quarterly rolling forecast. Facilitate billing to 3rd party and intercompany client, physical inventory audits, as well as internal controls documentation and auditing.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS• B.S. degree in Accounting from an accredited university (Required)• Minimum seven (5) years of general accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing• Cost Accounting experience (Required)• Hands-on experience with ERP systems: Oracle (Required), Vision and D365 (preferred), HFM.• Able to work in a team setting. Good oral and written communication skills.• Above average working knowledge of MS365 applications, particularly advanced Excel skills• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.• This is "on-site" position for Magnolia Canrig facility. Occasional working from HQ office at Greens Rd, Houston, as necessary.• Candidate must be a self-motivated, proactive individual who respects and adhere to reporting timelines, can work with limited supervision as well as be an efficient team player. Because this position is a process-heavy role, the selected candidate will be required to not only complete the required tasks but constantly strive to reduce inefficiencies and improve the overall processes.
