Quality Inspector for temp to hire, 1st shift 6am-2:30pm M-F
Quality Inspector I is an entry level position performing visual and dimensional in-process, using basic inspection tools - mics, calipers & gauges
Inspectors perform review of documentation and visual and mechanical inspection of raw materials.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure proper care of equipment and machinery.
• Accurately complete required time entries and applicable inspection entries on job travelers, inspection reports and other documentation as required.
• Document and report nonconforming equipment, raw material, processes and product. Ensure proper identification and segregation of nonconforming items.
• Perform first piece, in-process, receiving, and final inspections under direct supervision of an Inspector Lead or Master Inspector.
• Verify the equipment being used is in calibration.
• Support other quality activities as required
Required
• High school Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to speak, read and write English, including understanding of verbal/written instructions
• Ability to perform basic math
• Computer skills desirable (Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.)
• Must demonstrate a "Quality mindset” within 90 days of hire
• Ability to read drawings/specifications desirable; must demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints within 90 days of hire
• Ability to read measurement devices is desirable; must demonstrate correct use of basic inspection tools (see Job Skills Matrix) within 90 days of hire
• Ability to set up and perform basic visual and dimensional (mechanical) inspections desired; must demonstrate ability within 90 days of hire
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
b. Preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance in a metal fabrication, welding, machining, or assembly environment preferred
• Experience in a machining, sheet metal/fabrication, or composite manufacturing environment is desirable
