Shift: Variable / between 7a-7p, 8x5, 40 hrs per weekLength: 13 weeks

Requirements:

1 Year ExperienceA minimum of six consecutive months of breast imaging experience within the last year in MammographyExperience in performing breast imaging examinations including breast screening, diagnostic examinations, ductograms, breast needle localizations, specimen radiographs, stereotactic (core and localization), and other related studiesRegistered Radiological Technologist A.R.R.T. (R)Graduate of accredited 2-year Radiologic Technology school or program in addition to required prerequisite training

Mammo TechVariable hours between 0 5x8s shiftsPOSITION SUMMARY: The Mammographic Technologist performs imaging procedures according to physician's orders, utilizing knowledge and judgment in regard to, exposure factors, imaging technique, and patient treatment. Proficient in the field of Mammography and General Radiology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Positions patient for diagnostic imaging according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements.Operates imaging equipment, determines and sets exposure factors, sets technique utilizing all relevant factors to ensure accurate and quality images with minimal and acceptable repeat rates.Uses computer image processing to select and optimize images.Presents exams and related patient information to radiologist for diagnosis.Assists with patient transport by moving patients using standard procedures.Expected to perform the complete range of departmental mammographic exams from Screening to Stereotactic.

DOCUMENTATION: Gathers complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to customers.Correctly identifies patient by checking patient's I.D., full name and DOB according to department procedure.Reviews patient questionnaire and orders to insure correct examination.Labels images completely with demographic, position and other needed documentation.Logs activities, gathers charging information and charges exams as required.Competently performs quality control and quality assurance, records results and reports variance from normal equipment function to meet MQSA standards.PERSONAL & PATIENT CARE AND SAFETY:Protects patients and others in the area by using proper machine settings and radiation safety standards.Practices universal and blood and body fluid precautions, and sterile practices according to procedures.Clearly communicates and uses knowledge of related anatomy and physiology to insure appropriate and effective care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.Maintains awareness of patient status and takes appropriate actions to meet their needs.Follows all departmental policies and procedures.Apply the department standards of service excellence to internal and external customers.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Graduate of accredited 2-year Radiologic Technology school or program in addition to required prerequisite training.Experience: A minimum of six consecutive months of breast imaging experience within the last year in Mammography required. Experience in performing breast imaging examinations including breast screening, diagnostic examinations, ductograms, breast needle localizations, specimen radiographs, stereotactic (core and localization), and other related studies.Preferred: Experience in Digital MammographyRegistrations, Certifications and/or Licenses:Registered Radiological Technologist A.R.R.T. (R) is required with current Oregon licensure. Must meet MQSA requirements for mammographers. Registration in ARRT (M) Mammography within six months from date of hire. Valid, approved BLS certification; current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging license.Unit: 1 - 32213 - HC.Mammography
