Job Title:Quality InspectorType:Direct HireLocation:Pearland, TXExperience:5 yearsOur client is seeking a full time Quality Inspector to handle and inspect products produced at their facility or received from and possibly at suppliers to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.Roles & Responsibilities•Foster an environment of teamwork, compliance and continual improvement•Adhere to the Company's objectives, i.e. Safety, Quality, Environmental and Information Security•Ensure compliance with departments standard procedures•Apply the Quality Tenets and referred practices in all aspects of production•Comprehensive knowledge to Inspect Turbomachinery Packaging Units per Specification, Requirement, P&IDs, Build sheets, Drawings and be responsible for the quality of workmanship•Conduct all shop inspection both In-Process inspection, Hydro Test, Functional Test, P&ID walk down, tagging inspections, dimensional inspection of customer connections and Final Inspection of Compressor packages with the client's inspectors•Develops agreed package punch lists and works with Production to agree rework requirements, documenting using the NCR system, and closing punch list prior to customer inspections•Works with QA to compile package documentation - MTR traceability, shop records and customer certification requirements per agreed ITPs•Open NCR's for defect tracking - ensure complete information is applied, containment of all affected parts and physical marking have been applied to parts and that parts remain marked until disposition applied and any required remedial action is applied•Inspect and approves incoming materials by confirming requirements and specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials•Participate in Material Review Board activities for non-conformance disposition and processing•Improve, sustain and manage Gage Calibration Program for the facility•Broad knowledge on Inspection techniques, including but not limited to, Non-Destructive Exams (PT, UT, MT, RT & others)•Apply Inspection techniques, usage of measurement monitoring gages & tools and QMS protocols•Test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical/fabrication and electrical characteristics•Interprets engineering drawings, P&ID's, customer specifications, ITP's, Quality Plans or other related specifications and confers with management and engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards•Record test data at relevant repository (SAP, Inspection Forms, Logs, Checklist, Routers etc.) and apply statistical techniques as needed•Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards•Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum within limits of equipment capabilities•Complete and produce Quality documentation and tagging that illustrates compliance and traceability requirements as required•Receive training, demonstrate proficiency and become certified in NDE testing as required•Act as liaison and host customer witness inspectors in assigned area as required•Other duties, responsibilities, activities and reporting structure may change or be assigned at any time with or without noticeRequirements•Education: High School diploma or equivalent•Experience: 5-10 years in manufacturing inspection preferred•English speaking, reading, and writing skills and have the ability to clearly communicate in English; have the ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instruction•Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form•Strong work ethic (willingness to work hard and long hours, when needed)•Mathematics Skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, whole numbers, fractions and decimals•Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule from•Must be able to read, interpret, and work from engineering prints, drawings, sketches, inspection test plans, customer specifications and technical communications•Must be capable of efficiently performing in process and final inspections on machined components with high accuracy•Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including all gauging, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards•Computer skills - general knowledge of word processing software, excel, email and manufacturing schedules•Ability to stand and walk to inspect majority of the day•Ability to sit and work in front of a computer•Lifting of products, files and/or boxes as defined per HSE rules and regulationsPreferred Skills•Advanced math skills (Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry)•GD&T Fundamentals / Metrology, Gage Design & Calibration Experience•Actively follow, practice and coach the Company Team Principles, Campus Work Rules, Safety Tents and Quality Tenets with fellow associates, customers and visitors•Ability to work in teams and be willing to learn and play a variety of team roles from constructive participant, to process or internal auditor, or even team leader as required•Should be self-directed, have the ability to work independently and be highly motivated•Comfortable working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment•Focus and carry out tasks in a timely and accurate manner•Should be detail-oriented, dependable and trustworthy•Conduct themselves in a professional and ethical manner in dealing with complex, sensitive and proprietary documents and information•Know the business and customer requirements;
