Registered Nurse - ICU @ IU Health Bloomington Hospital

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: ICU Job Duration: 18 months Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours in one workweek Experience: Minimum 18 months License: Must have IN or compact license in hand by the start date Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required; NIH preferred Must-Have: - Comfortable with Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and MedSurg- Experience with the management of dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery care, transcatheter aortic valve implantation/replacement (TAVI/TAVR), arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and management Job Description: - Work across a mixed acuity unit, including both PCU and MedSurg as needed.- Handle patient diagnoses including cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology.- Engage in special procedures that focus on cardiovascular and oncology patients.- Utilize special equipment in all private rooms, equipped with overhead lifts and telemetry.- Weekend work required every other weekend.- Essential responsibilities include titration of cardiac drips and vasoactive drips, and previous charge experience is preferred.- Float within the hospital or nearby affiliated hospitals as required to meet facility needs.- Required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.- Care for ventilated patients and manage ventilators.- Preferred skills include intra-aortic balloon pump operation, pre/post cardiac catheter intervention, sheath removal, and management of ventricular assist devices (LVAD/RVAD/Impella).- Participate in orientation for 12 hours.Please note that all traveler's university must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation, and flu vaccine is required with medical/religious exemptions only.
