Job SummaryThe Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality standards of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products are met. This role involves inspecting and approving materials and products through various tests, documenting results, and working closely with production teams to resolve quality-related issues.The position reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and Operations Manager for daily supervision and performance reviews.Job ResponsibilitiesApprove Incoming Materials: Verify specifications of incoming materials through visual and measurement tests. Reject and return materials that do not meet standardsApprove In-Process Production: Monitor ongoing production by ensuring specifications are met through visual and measurement testing. Communicate necessary adjustments to lead personnel or supervisorsApprove Finished Products: Confirm that finished products meet quality standards through testing. Return products for re-work when necessary, and ensure re-work is performed and approvedDocument Inspection Results: Maintain accurate reports and logs of inspection results, summarizing re-work and waste. Input data into the quality database for future referenceMaintain Measurement Equipment: Ensure that all measurement tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition. Communicate equipment repair needs when necessaryInterpret Blueprints and Specifications: Read blueprints and interpret technical specifications to ensure accurate quality assessmentsEnsure Safe Work Environment: Adhere to safety and health protocols, ensuring all tasks are performed within established safety standardsContinuous Learning and Skill Development: Update job knowledge by participating in relevant educational opportunities and adopting new skills to improve inspection processesAchieve Organizational Quality Goals: Complete tasks that contribute to meeting organizational quality and operational objectivesOther Duties as Assigned: Perform other related duties as required.Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a quality-related position or a comparable role, preferably in the metals industryWork Environment: Experience in an industrial warehouse setting, ideally within the metals industryIndustry Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO-9001, QS-9000, TS-16949, ISO-14000 standards preferredComputer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, and other relevant software programsAttention to Detail: Must be meticulous, with a strong eye for detail to ensure high-quality standards are maintainedSelf-Management: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative in completing tasks efficientlyPhysical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobilityReliability: Demonstrated reliable work historyAttention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasksEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
