Bright Horizons Childrens Centers LLCIT Software DeveloperNewton MAResponsibilities: Develop new and support existing applications for internal use and Bright Horizons' external clients and their employees. Develop software to deliver features and enhancements to applications and systems, and test and correct deficiencies in the software in a controlled environment. Participate in requirements gathering and translate business and technical requirements into business systems. Design system enhancements and business process changes geared to drive best practices and improve efficiency of staff, accuracy of results, and usefulness of data, and critically evaluate business requirements, providing alternative solutions where applicable. Work in conjunction with outside vendors in a shared development environment and work with Application Support, QA, and development to support application issues, changes, and modifications. Identify ways in which system and process changes can improve efficiency for key users, customer service, accuracy of results, and completeness of data. Responsible for .Net web application development with ASP.Net MVC frameworks. Write HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and optimized SQL, and follow best practices for relational databases. Follow designated best practice design and implementation methodologies to maintain and improve existing codebase, focusing on improving performance, scalability and user experience. Work with members of the software team to execute code, design reviews, and maintain code quality, organization, and automation. Act as a change agent to help ensure that newly implemented systems and processes enhance the success of software projects.Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and three years in the job offered or three years .Net web application development experience. Experience must include three years each of the following: ASP.Net MVC framework; writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; Microsoft SQL Server; writing optimized SQL; following best practices for relational databases; maintaining and improving an existing codebase; Scrum/Agile methodologies; jQuery; and Entity framework.
