Description:
We are seeking an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 4-6 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering to join our growing team in either Cranberry, Homestead, or Southpointe, PA. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction within the water and wastewater sectors, working with both municipal and industrial clients. This position offers an excellent opportunity to expand technical expertise and project management skills in the water infrastructure space.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and development of water and wastewater systems for municipal and industrial clients, including pipeline, pump station, and treatment facility projects.
Work with multidisciplinary teams on the evaluation, design, and construction of water and wastewater collection, conveyance, and distribution systems.
Support Civil and Process Engineering projects, from initial design and development to final specifications, permitting, and construction documentation.
Participate in technical studies, product design, and preparation of plans and specifications.
Conduct fieldwork such as water sampling, site inspections, and construction administration, including preparing field observation reports.
Maintain strong communication skills and work effectively in a collaborative, detail-oriented team environment.
Ensure all project work complies with client, environmental, and safety requirements.
Proficient in using AutoCAD Civil 3D and relevant analysis software.
Perform mid-level design tasks, delegating more routine work to junior staff members.
General Qualifications:
Develops skills in a specialized practice area, applying standard techniques and criteria to complete projects.
Works collaboratively and adapts methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.
Applies statistical and probability principles to assess engineering risks.
Minimum Experience:
4+ years in water/wastewater engineering.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering (or related field).
Licensure:
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification.
Technical Responsibilities:
Performs mid-level design tasks for water/wastewater projects.
Assists in preparing plans, specifications, and project documents.
Conducts research and field investigations.
