Job Details:

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Permanent Controller to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional who is passionate about overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, and a proven track record of working effectively within a team and independently.

Responsibilities:

  1. Research, track and resolve accounting problems.
  2. Process invoices and issue checks for accounts payable.
  3. Record business transactions to the general ledger system.
  4. Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
  5. Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
  6. Prepare and post journal entries.
  7. Prepare and analyze account reconciliations.
  8. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close financial information.
  9. Assist in the daily banking requirements.
  10. Support budget and forecasting activities.
  11. Review bank reconciliations, loan schedules, management fees, etc.
  12. Prepare or review business licenses, personal property tax, sales and use tax, real estate tax and other government forms.
  13. Responsible for payroll processing and posting job costs.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  3. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
  4. High attention to detail and accuracy.
  5. Ability to direct and supervise.
  6. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills: able to manage priorities and workflow.
