Position Overview

OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster®. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. At OMG, we use safe machine operating processes, hand-packing techniques, and effective lean manufacturing principles to pack our products. This position routinely operates automated- and semi-automated machines to pack parts according to specifications and Kanban card requirements. The Packing Operator may also hand pack at times as product needs demand. The Packing Operator must be a team player and committed to delivering the best quality to our customers.

Position ResponsibilitiesPromote Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG employees.Set up the machine, observe machine operation, and ensure the product is packed according to specifications.Adjust specified tooling and set packing speeds and feed rates.Perform preventative maintenance inspections as required.Observe all safety rules.Assist other Packing Operators with the machine set up, and stacking, marking, packing, and transporting the packed product.Maintain a neat and well-organized work area.Ability to contribute as part of a team.Perform other tasks as assigned.Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to interpret safety instructions, job orders, quality specifications, and other related documents.Good written and verbal communication, and basic math skills.Strong math and mechanical reasoning skills.Ability to contribute as part of a team.Positive can-do attitude.Physical Requirements

Ability to work in high-noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices.Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch.Ability to use a hard tined rake to move/break apart parts frequently.The position requires the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time.Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift/push/pull/carry up to 50Must be able to complete all essential job functions listed in the position responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
