And last but not least, youll get to work on products that delight and inspire millions of Apple customers every single day, including your friends and family.**Description**The WebKit JavaScript Virtual Machine is responsible for executing JavaScript and WebAssembly code found in web pages. It uses type inference, dynamic compilation, and sophisticated compilation optimizations to turn JavaScript programs into efficient machine code on X86 and ARM. JavaScript Virtual Machine engineers work on all aspects of the compilation pipeline, including the parser and lexical analysis, the profile-guided type inference, and the optimizing compiler backend. They also own and maintain the language runtime, the garbage collector, and the JavaScriptCore API for native apps. As a JavaScript Virtual Machine Engineer you will work as a generalist in these areas, diagnosing and fixing performance, stability, standards compliance, and compatibility issues, implementing new language features, and supporting browser and non-browser JavaScript clients.**Minimum Qualifications**+ BS in computer science or equivalent+ Detailed knowledge of C and C++ Excellent debugging, critical thinking, and communication skills+ Detailed understanding of data structures and algorithms+ Experience with compilers, parsers, and interpreters+ Experience with assembly-level programming**Key Qualifications****Preferred Qualifications**+ Detailed knowledge of the JavaScript language+ Detailed knowledge of the WebAssembly language+ Knowledge of best practices in embedded software security+ Experience with garbage collectors+ Experience with performance analysis+ Experience with open source software development**Education & Experience****Additional Requirements****Pay & Benefits**+ At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,900 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apples discretionary employee stock programs.
