Key job responsibilities
AWS Finance seeks a world class Senior Financial Analyst. This position works closely with senior business partners and finance professionals at all levels to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership on AWS products. Key responsibilities include:
Influencing business partner decisions through education and collaboration on marginal costs, pricing, customer adoption, and etc.
Collaborating with business partners to build and maintain detailed cost models by product/service
Driving financial planning and budgeting activities
Preparing and providing financial reporting, including communicating future financial risks and opportunities to the business
Developing and standardizing financial reporting
Working on ad-hoc financial analyses and projects
A day in the life
A successful candidate will implement and drive the core financial processes for the business. Additional responsibilities include helping refine the capacity planning processes and modeling improvements to help drive positive Free Cash Flow.
This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of Tableau
4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
Six Sigma Black Belt
Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
