This role is an exciting opportunity to further develop your skills and experience. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining the financial health of our organization, ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements, supervising staff, and providing financial information to our management team. Responsibilities:As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will be diverse and impactful. They will include: Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements. Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses. Preparing and recording journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Managing the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data has been received and processed. Maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies. Supporting budget and forecasting activities, including the preparation of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements. Utilizing Yardi or equivalent software to manage accounting operations. Collaborating with the finance team to support overall department goals and objectives. Monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Advising staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions. Responding to inquiries from the director of finance, and other managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.Qualifications:The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position should possess the following qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Hospitality or property management experience is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance. Proficient in preparing journal entries and financial statements. Strong experience with month-end close processes and P&L statements. Experience with Yardi or equivalent accounting software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
