This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CPA to take our well-funded start-up company to the next level!Job DetailsJob Overview:We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to join our growing startup. As the Controller, you will oversee the financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and provide insightful analysis to drive financial decision-making. You will work closely with the executive team to develop financial strategies and ensure the company’s fiscal health. This is a critical role for ensuring compliance, managing risk, and supporting the company’s growth trajectory.Key Responsibilities:Financial Management & Reporting: Lead the preparation and management of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. Prepare consolidated financial reports for stakeholders and board meetings.Cash Flow & Treasury: Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to ensure the company’s liquidity. Oversee treasury functions, including banking relationships, debt management, and cash forecasts.Accounting Operations: Manage the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Develop and implement efficient accounting policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with tax filings, audits, and other regulatory requirements.Financial Planning & Analysis: Partner with the leadership team to provide financial insights, support strategic planning, and drive business growth. Analyze financial trends, identify risks, and recommend actions to mitigate financial and operational challenges.Risk Management & Compliance: Maintain internal controls to ensure integrity of financial reporting and protect company assets. Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and corporate governance requirements. Collaborate with external auditors and ensure the audit process runs smoothly.Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and develop a small but capable finance and accounting team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the finance department.Qualifications: Possess an active CPA license (an advanced accounting degree is ideal). Public accounting experience with a Big 4 or national CPA firm. Previous manager or supervisor experience. 7+ years of career experience. Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management. In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems
