This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a diverse range of clients, helping them navigate the complexities of grant management and financial forecasting. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and effectiveness of our grant programs. Responsibilities: As a Grant Accountant, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:1. Set up grants and sub grantees for state and federal grants
2. Develop and maintain grant budgets, financial reports, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to grant requirements and guidelines.
3. Oversee the financial management of grants, including the monitoring of expenditures, the reconciliation of accounts, and the preparation of financial statements.
4. Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions, regulatory requirements, and accounting principles.
5. Work closely with subcontractors, ensuring they understand and comply with grant requirements and guidelines.
6. Provide training and support to clients and subcontractors on grant accounting, financial management, and compliance.
7. Perform financial analyses and provide recommendations to clients to help them make informed decisions about their grant programs.
8. Assist clients with grant applications, renewals, and closures, ensuring all financial aspects are properly managed and reported.Qualifications:To be considered for this exciting role, you must have:1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or other relevant certification will be an advantage.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant accounting, with a focus on consulting. Experience working with subcontractors will be an added advantage.
3. In-depth knowledge of grant management, compliance, and reporting requirements.
4. Strong financial forecasting skills and experience in budget development and management.
5. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide recommendations.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to clients and subcontractors.
7. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8.
