JT4 SkillBridge Program - Front-End Developer Internship
About SkillBridge
JT4 is partnered with the U.S. Department of Defense's SkillBridge Program, which is designed to provide internship opportunities to transitioning military personnel during their final 6 months of service, thus preparing them for a full-time civilian position once they separate.
Note:
This opportunity is open to transitioning military members only. Non-service members will not be considered for this position.
JT4's SkillBridge Front-End Developer Internship is a unique 16-weekopportunity for transitioning service members to obtain thorough OTJ (on the job) training from JT4's top technical SME's. During the internship, the service member will be provided a training plan outlining weekly tasks and goals to be accomplished. The goal of the internship is to prepare the transitioning service member for a full-time Front-End Developer role at JT4. Some examples of required Front-End Developer duties and responsibilities are outlined below.
NOTE:
While the program is designed to prepare the service member for a full-time, civilian position, JT4 has no obligation to hire the intern on full-time or to continue the internship if it is determined that the intern does not meet expectations.
About JT4
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
Job SummaryEssential Functions/Duties
Under immediate supervision, converts data from project specifications and statement of problem and procedures to create or modify computer programs requiring and applying basic knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
Conduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in obtaining technical informationPerform engineering tasks that are varied, with established deadlines, and may be somewhat difficult in characterPlan and carry out successive engineering steps and resolve technical problems by standard practices and techniques such as tolerance studies and design calculationsSupport projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the documents to be preparedGenerate sections of design specifications of more complex projects or complete specifications of less complex projectsConduct laboratory investigations on equipment or systems, using computer-assisted test methodsAssist in preparation of reports, correspondence, or technical studiesStudy currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to the engineering specialtyKeep informed of currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to engineering specialtyPrepare, deliver, and submit technical presentations for in-process design and review meetingsPerform other job-related duties, as requiredOther Responsibilities
Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job.
Working Conditions
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
RequirementsEducation, Technical, and Work Experience
A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution is required for this position.
In addition, an Engineer I must possess the following qualifications:
Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principlesFamiliarity with related engineering fieldsPractical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructionsWorking knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering toolsPlanning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines.
