The incumbent will work with a variety of patients most commonly including orthopedics and post-surgical patients, among others.0.8 FTE: 4 days/weekRegular daytime hours, 8am - 4:30pm with some flexibilityPatient volume varies - can be as few as 2 - 3 patients up to 10+Call is required and is by phone only during the daytime on weekends0.2 FTE dedicated to leadership responsibilitiesIntrathecal baclofen pump managementJob Description:Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a physician/nurse team. Works within a Specialty Care team, in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of the treatment team ensuring continuity of patient care in all settings. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team. As Lead, helps manage daily departmental needs, scheduling and workflow for staff. Assists management with employee performance review and coaching opportunities.Principle ResponsibilitiesProvides clinical care for patientsCompletes comprehensive patient assessments.Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.Refers for specialty care when determined.Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.Participates in health care teamPromotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.Acts as resource to members of the team.Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients.Works with primary care team for program development.Participates in research activities when opportunity available.Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.Assists management when in Lead roleHelps manage daily departmental needs, scheduling and workflow for staff.Provides technical expertise and resource to employees.Gives feedback to management for the annual review process.Partners with management and employee for performance improvement.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMaster's degree completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program2+ years' experience in practicing Pain Management or a related disciplinePreferred Qualifications Leadership experienceLicenses/CertificationsLicensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hireCertified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) required Certification within specialty upon hireBLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hireACLS/BLS Tier 2-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Multisource preferredDrug Enforcement Administration upon hire requiredPhysical DemandsMedium Work*:Lifting weightUp to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently
