Summary:
The Senior Systems Administrator will provide support to the Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC). The NMOTC Information Management and Technology Department IT Service Area activities are performed in close cooperation and coordination with, but not limited to: Application Integration and Business Intelligence Support, Desktop Support Services, IT Operations, Customer Portfolio Management and Cyber Support Services. Services are typically accomplished through integrated product or project teams, comprised of Government and Contractor personnel. The NMOTC Information Management and Technology Department and the associated IT Enterprise provides services to over 100,000 end-users world-wide to include 1,300 unique operational medicine program owners across Navy Medicine, individual projects, laboratories, and other Fleet and Fleet Marine Force medical organizations.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Create, manage and administer group policies to enforce security settings, software deployment, and system configurations.Create or assist in the development of enterprise-level GPO's that are customized for each site.Troubleshoot and resolve group policy-related issues.DoD guidelines on a quarterly basisOrganization of network tasks, events, and configuration alarm notificationsApply all MHS Active Directory GPOs for all operating systems to ensure compliance with DHA/DISA/MHS Secure Host Baseline standards.Configure and support required third party software used for command program management.Engage with vendors to resolve IAVMs affecting education and training learning management software, ie Question Mark, various LMS solutions and physical security control software solutionsManage and administer Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance to ensure all production and development servers are properly maintained to OS STIG compliance.Maintain administration of each Windows Server (all versions) license.Report performance and capacities to Network Manager and make allocation recommendations based on trend analysis.Track all service activity including system log verifications and perform software updates on client servers.Monitor server performance and ensure optimal functionality and security.Perform Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning to identify vulnerabilities on servers and other machines as needed.Collaborate with the NMOTC ISSM to develop mitigation strategies and remediate vulnerabilities.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices and experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of related experience.Experience and knowledge responding, diagnosing and remediating server issues in a dynamic environment.Experience analyzing system logs and monitoring allocations to provide appropriate recommendations to Network Manager based on trend analysis.Experience documenting server and systems software component versioningMust be a US citizen.Must have and ability to maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
