Job Description
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking a WIC Application Support Specialist (Program Planner 2). This critical support role assists internal staff and contracted staff in the Iowa WIC Program. This is a hybrid work opportunity, working on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from the beautiful Capitol Complex from a newly remodeled building with free parking and may telework from home Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays unless a special meeting requires in person attendance. Responsibilities and Job Duties:The WIC Application Support Specialist is the primary contact for support of WIC clinic staff using our data system and providing system training. Additionally, this role provides meeting planning and assists with writing, organization and gathering professional documentation related to this program area. This critical position provides essential support to the state WIC team. Travel for this position is minimal, less than 1% of the time.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to:•providing technical support to users of the WIC data systems,•creating training materials,•reporting and monitoring issues with the WIC data systems,•assisting in making data system corrections,•testing new system releases,•assisting program leads by assembling documentation, scheduling meetings, maintaining timelines.
The ideal candidate will have experience in some or all these areas:•Technical support•Data systems•Meeting and event planning•Project coordination•Knowledge of WIC, SNAP or EBT•Some procurement or contract managementMinimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
1) Six years of full-time work experience in the administration or operation/execution (i.e., providing consultation and/or technical assistance to stakeholders, research and analysis, or enforcement of program guidelines/policies/procedures) of a program (i.e., the provision of a service or an administrative oversight/enforcement responsibility).2) All of the following (a and b):a. A total of four years of education and full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience; andb. A total of two years of graduate-level education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience.3) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes eighteen months of full-time work as a Program Planner 1.
