If you are someone who brings a unique perspective and a genuine commitment to equity and inclusion, we invite you to join us in our mission.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.5+ years of progressive experience in human resources, with a focus on employee relations and organizational development.Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and standard payroll and benefit databases.SHRM or HRCI certification is desirable.Major Responsibilities:Directly supervise the Human Resources Manager, providing guidance and support in benefits administration, recruitment administration, and labor law compliance.Conduct regular weekly supervisions and foster professional development for the HR Manager.Proactively manage and address employee relations matters, conflicts, and concerns to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.Work closely with program directors to promote effective communication and resolve workplace issues promptly and equitably.Actively contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive organizational culture.In lieu of performance reviews, provide guidance to managers on goal-setting and professional development plans for employees.Enhance employee wellness programs, promoting a healthy work-life balance and mental well-being.Develop and implement initiatives to boost employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires.Collaborate with program directors to identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.Ensure clear communication channels within the HR department and across the organization.In close coordination with the Chief Operating Officer, develop and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current employment laws and regulations.Stay informed about changes in labor laws and industry trends to proactively address potential compliance issues.Generate regular reports on HR metrics and key performance indicators for leadership evaluation.Compensation:$100K - $130K annually with a competitive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid medical and dental insurance, 4 weeks accrued vacation, and access to a 403b retirement plan. Under California law, Homeward Bound is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range considers a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
