Nuna
Director, Quality Assurance
Nuna, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
At Nuna, our mission is to make high-quality healthcare affordable and accessible for everyone. We are dedicated to tackling one of our nation's biggest problems with ingenuity, creativity, and a keen moral compass.
Nuna is committed to simple principles: a rigorous understanding of data, modern technology, and most importantly, compassion and care for our fellow human. We want to know what really works, what doesn't—and why.
YOUR TEAMYou'll lead a cross-functional team of software engineers, analysts, and manual testers to ensure that Nuna is always shipping quality applications built on solid data, architecture, and process foundations. You'll partner with engineering leaders across the organization to understand what platform, application and data assets they operate with, and your team will build, integrate, and drive adoption of the systems needed to take quality and operations to the next level.
YOUR OPPORTUNITIESIn this role, you will:
Act as the gatekeeper on if a release is ready to ship, holding other engineering leaders accountable
Establish and be directly responsible for the quality metrics tracked by the executive team
Drive quality tooling and frameworks, meaning:
Drive build vs. buy decisions and own the quality architecture
Hire a team of excellent engineers that can get "in the weeds" with engineering to create, maintain, and integrate our framework across engineering
Own planning and outcomes related to the above
Understand what other teams are building so you can evolve our quality strategy and drive adoption
Steer where we make future investments in the product by bringing data on where we need to invest to improve
Own the quality of our data and products as a whole
Bring a step-function change in how the organization approaches quality, quickly developing a plan to do so spanning the development teams in the organization, and driving the plan with support from other senior leaders
QUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications
Experience managing leading quality functions for data-driven applications
Experience managing software engineers and other job profiles to build/buy/implement and integrate quality frameworks
A data-driven approach towards where to spend your team's time
You've driven adoption of a new quality framework/plan for a 50+ person organization
A passion for automation
An opinionated set of defaults for how a quality organization should run, with the humility to collaborate and adjust as needed for Nuna
Experience with all the basics of QA - driving towards automated testing, test plans, data quality dashboards, bug metrics, etc.
Clear written and verbal communication
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare Data Ingestion experience
We take into account an individual's qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary.
