Make history with us.JOB TITLE: Packaging Machine OperatorUSINESS UNIT: SnacksFUNCTION: OperationsREPORTS TO: Team Leader ProductionGRADE/LEVEL: HP04GENERAL SUMMARY:The Packaging Machine Operator, under the general supervision, is responsible for the safe, efficient and continuous operation of snack packaging machinery. Overtime may be required.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES o Accurately completes shift documentation (i.e., Metal Detector, Batch Order Verifications, Standard work, etc.) o Independently and accurately operates packaging equipment which may include case sealers, robot cells and printers. This includes but is not limited to: machine setups, troubleshooting, changeovers, running, procedural adjustments, sanitation cleanup, preventative maintenance and shutdown.o Monitors and adjusts each machine to ensure proper cut off of film and bags have proper end seals and back seals as required.o Ensures machines are running at standard speeds.o Monitors product appearance and adheres to weight control program. o Identifies and resolves packaged product quality issues.o Properly accounts for product run off and handles this product accordingly; sorts through and reworks all good producto Keeps machines and work areas clean.o Immediately reports any safety, machine, or quality problems to appropriate Coordinator and/or Supervisor.o Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection (i.e. PPE, GMP, LOTO, safe lifting, etc)o Provide leadership and direction to packers.o May perform other duties as required.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to comply with the physical demands of constantly lifting and moving stock by hand or with manual equipment (including pallet jacks and forklifts). The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat or cold.Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
