Adjunct Teaching Position Spring 2025
Western Connecticut State University is pleased to announce applications are being accepted for part-time adjunct teaching positions in the Biology department in the disciplines of Physics and Meteorology. Specifically for part-time teaching positions for the upcoming Spring 2025 semester as well as for future semesters

The assignment(s) we are recruiting for include lecture and lab for PHY 120/121 General Physics I and II. This course is appropriate for students majoring in life science, pre-medicine, and other related disciplines. We are also interested in individuals interested in teaching calculus-based Physics courses (PHY110/111) and upper-level Atmospheric Physics and instrumentation courses. These courses specifically address the needs of physical science students interested in climate and atmospheric sciences. These classes typically consist of 3 hours of lecture, 2 hours lab, and 1 hour of recitation for a total of six (6) hours weekly in-class teaching (six (6) load credits) but can also include small independent study groups.
Qualifications:
Master's degree or Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or a closely related science. Candidates must be able to teach in-person on-campus (this is not a remote teaching opportunity).
Salary & Benefits:
The current minimum starting salary is $2,026 per load credit (or a minimum of $6,078 for a single 3 credit course). Additional information on benefits can be found at

. Part-time faculty at WCSU are represented by the American Association of University Professors. WCSU is within walking distance of the Danbury station on the Metro North train. All employment, if offered, is contingent upon proof of citizenship or employability under the requirement of the Immigration and Control Act (IRCA) and the successful passing of a background check.
