We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join the team on the Pediatric Float unit! ??Nurses on this 21-bed unit care for children from newborn to adult. Nurses will be floating to potentially five different units at the American Family Children's Hospital including seeing GC, IMC or ICU patients. Prior float experience is a plus! Nurses provide comprehensive care for patients admitted with a wide variety of both medical and surgical problems. Problems include: general care along with ICU patients including acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi system organ failure, and ECMO. Minimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile: resume, Medefis portal and all onboarding documentation must have permanent address listed). Experience: Must have at least 2 years of true Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience. PICU float experience does not count. Must be willing to work in the ICU, IMC and GC units. Trach experience is preferred. Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years. Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 or 2 trauma center or similar size hospital. Licensure and Certification: Traveler must have Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from their permanent address state. BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY PALS - must be certified through American Heart Association ? Education: Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred. Reference Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years).?? Telemetry Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions). UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to traveler 2-3 weeks prior to start date. Floating Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler s assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
