Each year, Evergreen recycles billions of PET bottles, keeping them out of landfills, oceans, rivers, forests, and roadways. We also produce hundreds of millions of pounds of recycled PET plastic that goes into new bottles and other products.There's another important side to Evergreen. We partner with municipal and commercial recycling facilities as well as business and industrial customers, accepting recyclable material and offering rebates for PET bottles and other PET material. This material is then sorted and made ready for other uses. The end goal is to make landfills a thing of the past, help customers achieve sustainability goals and make the circular economy possible for all of us.All of the above would mean nothing if it were not backed by dedicated employees and extraordinary service.RequirementsSafety Understands the company's commitment to safety.Understands the basic safety requirements, policies, and SOP's.Understands the disciplinary policy for safety violations.Understands the Zero Tolerance Safety Rules.Understands and follows plant safety procedures and guidelines.Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.Understands Lock-Out/Tag-Out policies and procedures.Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately, this includes witnessing such acts committed by other employees.Participates in required safety training and toolbox talks.Be aware of the surroundings, watch where you are walking.Knows emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machines failures, workplace injuries, etc.Inspects machine guarding and work areas for hazards and informs supervisor of any safety concerns.Responsible to look for hazards, continuously and notify supervisor of any safety hazards. Tasks Maintains sorting area.Emptying/dumping discharge bins, bags, dumpters.Clean and dump any deposits from Sorema pre-wash, such as label, trash, cap bottle and debris from under the conveyors and decks.Notifies supervisor if potential contaminants are visible in pre-wash or sort.Sweeping, cleaning, and squeegeeing.Preventative maintenance, not limited to wiping lights, changing suction cups.Remove contaminants from forklift and attachments prior to exiting to outside.Clean up any debris in the bin locations, outside.Remove trash with forklift.Discharge hoppers with forklift.Uses tools such as brooms, shovels, squeegee, rakes, and pellet jack.Activate the emergency stop button and sound the alarm if needles are found on the line.Empty trash before it overflows onto the floor.Clean and de-clog grates and trenches as required.Follow all procedures, processes, and safety requirements.Report to work on time and maintain company attendance standards.Maintain appropriate work behavior with co-workers and management.Report directly to Foreman.Perform other duties as assigned by management.Assists other workers with specific tasks as requested.Follows plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). General & Administrative Completes and fills out required paperwork, logs, and related materials, including forklift checklists.Carries out activities in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.Completes all assigned cleaning tasks.Immediately notify supervisor of any/all processing or maintenance problems.Reports to work on time and follows Evergreen attendance policy and guidelines.No direct supervision responsibilities Qualifications Willingness to work and follow instructions.Forklift certification.To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
