Role Description We are currently looking for an experienced Powder Coating Painter to work in our manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include operating a handheld spray gun in a spray booth while wearing protective equipment to paint fitness equipment. To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of powder coating equipment including guns, hoppers, and booth collection systems, and how to operate them skillfully and safely. Candidates should also be able to make necessary adjustments to the painting process to ensure quality parts are produced. The ideal candidate will have a steady hand and great attention to detail. This position may be temp-to-hire using a third-party agency. Employees are evaluated after 90 days and offered a position with the company if they are meeting expectations. RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sandblasting, masking, or rinsing in high-volume production Complete jobs on time by following the schedule Inspect parts for defects Apply powder coating using a handheld spray gun, ensuring an even distribution of the coating for a uniform finish per manufacturer requirements Place items in a curing oven once powder coating is applied Clean paint guns and the booth to prevent contamination Make adjustments to powder coating equipment when needed: guns & hoppers Examine finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications and free of defects Communicate discrepancies to Team Lead, solve problems, and implement solutions Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety Ensure all work produced meets customers' quality expectations Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and complete preventive maintenance Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent required Manufacturing experience: 6 months (preferred) Vocational training or surface preparation and coating application apprenticeships preferred Knowledge and experience working within paint booths, batch painting, or conveyor line painting preferred Knowledge of electrostatic coatings, wash, and pretreatments preferred Knowledge of job-related safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (coveralls, gloves, safety shoes, respirator, etc.) PREFERRED SKILLS Basic math and measurement (Quart, Gallon, Etc.) skills Must possess excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and dependability Good hand-eye coordination with strong motor skills Able to lift 45 pounds without assistance and 20 pounds overhead Physical stamina and strength are crucial to performing this work effectively Ability to work in standing position painting for an extended period Able to work in a warm to hot environment SCHEDULE Full-time position, 8-hour day shift, 4:00 am - 12:30 pm Overtime is worked as needed based on business 30-minute meal off-the-clock, two 10-minute rest breaks Monday through Friday, some Saturdays may be required WORK ENVIRONMENT Fast-paced environment with others relying on completion of tasks Standing for 8 hours a day, breaks limited to scheduled meals and rest periods A large percentage of work time is spent in a production warehouse where temperatures range from warm to cool and noise levels can be moderate to high Hot environment without AC, fans are available in some areas of the building Dress code is casual: safety-toed work boots required, no tank tops, no shorts All employees are required to wear eye protection while in the shop COMPENSATION Non-Exempt position; Salary range: $16.50 - $18.00 an hour Final compensation will be determined and based on experience This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law Quarterly bonus option available for most employees BENEFITS Low-cost premiums for Medical and Vision coverage for employees, with the option to add family members Employer-paid Dental coverage for employees and their family members Employer-paid Life Insurance/AD&D and Long-Term Disability Voluntary Flexible Spending Account plan Voluntary AFLAC plans which include life, accident, cancer, etc. 401k with generous employer match Paid time off: accrued vacation and sick time and 8 paid holidays annually Candidates for positions with Keiser Corporation must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
