Machinists read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams to determine how to configure the machine and check the outputs. Machinists set up, operate, and maintain precision equipment like lathes, mills, and drills. They also adjust machines during operation to ensure optimal performance. Machinists use raw materials like metal or plastic to create new parts or repair existing ones.
