Meadow Gold Dairy has immediate job openings for well-versed Machine Operators to perform an array of functions including maintaining, breaking down and setting up equipment and machinery, while troubleshooting and resolving basic to moderate operating issues. Machine operators will be responsible for processing finished or raw materials, while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and communicating effectively with all departments and meeting daily deadlines.Meadow Gold Dairy is a farmer-owned brand of Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a dairy marketing cooperative owned by more than 12,500 family farmers. COMPENSATION/SHIFT$24.02 Hourly (Increase to $26.69 by your first year)Monday-Friday 2:00PM-2:00AM (Saturdays thru end of 2024)BENEFITS:Union pension planCompetitive paypaid sick leaveyearly increases Career growth opportunities - we promote from within!Comprehensive healthcare benefitsEmployee referral programJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESClean, set-up, operate, and monitor equipment of the production lineComplete all required documentation and scheduled quality checksMonitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of productMake adjustments to filler timing and filling; check mat as neededTroubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficultiesCollect required samples needed for quality assurance testingEnsure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being producedWatch for jams on the label operator and effectively thread wrap to prevent downtime due to errorPerform filler and filler line changeovers in a safe and efficient mannerComplete cleaning checklist once line has completed runPrepare equipment for next run to include size changes as neededMaintain communication with other departments, supervisor, and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of productionEnsure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP'sUtilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processesReport any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediatelyMaintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issuesFollow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirementsThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
