Job Description
This position has oversight for the Database team responsible for maintaining databases. As a Database manager, you will lead your team to ensure database stability and integrity by securely and correctly monitoring, maintaining and designing computerized databases. This position will also be responsible for devising and periodically reviewing disaster recovery plans, as well as overseeing the installation and testing of new software for impact on databases, upgrading of databases as needed, and running of back-up programs to prevent data loss as appropriate.
Provide guidance to database team on database structures and features.Oversee day-to-day activities of database team.Provide support by performing troubleshooting which may include, but not necessarily be limited to problem recognition, root cause analysis, research, isolation, resolution, follow-up, and documentation.Perform functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, o planning, and configuration of databases.Designing and Prepare reports on database scalability and capacity planning as needed.Document and maintain database disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous availability and speedy recovery.Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted Training colleagues in how to input and extract data.Enhances the effectiveness of database tools and services Assures that all data complies with legal regulations.Ensures that information is backed-up, secured, and protected Stay updated with new database technologies and analyze such technologies to bring into scope of existing infrastructure.Create and maintain all required documentation.Coach and mentor team members and provide performance feedback as appropriate.Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age o Bachelor's degree in a computer science discipline or a comparable level of education and experienceMinimum of 3-5 plus years of experience in IT Management4-6 years of experience designing, developing, and producing reports from a database applicationOn-call availability on a rotational basis is a requirement of this role Must have a working knowledge of database languages, such as MySQL Proficiency in MS Office SuiteStrong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and oral communication skillsMust have good communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses.
