HRU Technical Resources is seeking an Senior Software Test Engineer to assist a large multinational defense corporation located in Minneapolis, MN. Type of Role: 6- Month Contract (Extension or Direct Hire likely) Schedule: HYBRID, 9/80 schedule (Every other Friday off) Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Holiday Pay Compensation: $54.00-$57.00/HR Description: This position involves planning and executing tasks in software requirements analysis, documentation, hardware-software integration, troubleshooting, and software verification testing. The candidate will work on developing, maintaining, upgrading, and porting embedded product software and support software to enhance and support project functionality. Additionally, the role includes mentoring less experienced engineers, collaborating with various engineering disciplines, and ensuring technical approaches align with established engineering principles and practices. The candidate will also develop, debug, and execute automated and manual requirements-based software verification testing, using version control and issue tracking tools to ensure product outcomes meet customer and technical requirements. Duties/Responsibilities: Plan and perform tasks in software requirements analysis, documentation, hardware-software integration, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and software verification testing. Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle. Work on programs involving the development, maintenance, upgrade, and porting of embedded product software and/or product support software to enhance, implement, and support project/system functionality. Mentor less experienced software engineers and software test engineers to develop their capabilities in software development, test, troubleshooting, and problem-solving. Collaborate across engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Systems. Ensure technical approach consistency with established engineering principles and practices. Ensure product outcomes meet customer needs and comply with technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements. Develop, debug, and execute automated and manual requirements-based software verification testing. Use version control and issue tracking tools. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in STEM Field, preferably Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical engineering or Computer Science. 5-6 years' experience in verification of testing real time embedded software Experience in developing tests using TestStand and/or LabView tools Familiarity with software architecture and design information captured in models (using tools such as Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, or similar model-based engineering tools).
