Job Description
ASRC Federal is seeking an
AWS Cloud Engineer
to join our team to support a DEA contract in Arlington, VA.
Work arrangement : Remote (preference for someone to be located in the DC Metro area)
Clearance : Public Trust (must be a US Citizen to meet contract requirements)
Summary:
Ideal candidate will focus is to provide skilled operations and engineering staff to implement, manage and support critical Information Technology services.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop Cloud-based infrastructure, applications and services that meet the organization's requirements.Deploy new applications to the cloud and migrate existing applications from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud.Monitor the performance of cloud-based systems and optimize resources to ensure cost-effective use of services while making sure services are highly available.Implement security best practices such as encryption, auditing, and access control to ensure the cloud environment meets security compliance standards.Implementing and provisioning automated VPC deployments for enterprise environments.Network Infrastructure :Network design / optimization, Load Balancing - ALB/ELB, AWS Network Firewall, Transit Gateway, Traffic Shaping, and DNS optimizationAWS Landing Zones :maintaining governance and checking compliance with organizational standards and security protocols.Cloud Based Architectures :managing AWS cloud environments, specifically with multi-account management.RDS Architecture and Optimization : design and implementation of relational database solutions using Amazon RDS, ensuring high availability, data integrity, and optimal performance.DevSecOps Integration : Drive the adoption of DevSecOps practices across projects by designing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and configuration management using tools like AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, and CloudFormation.Security and Compliance : Implement robust security measures in line with AWS security best practices. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards and provide recommendations for enhancing data protection and privacy.Requirements
Requirements:
Possessing an active AWS architecture certification is highly preferred.Knowledge and experience of MFAand SSO solutions.Knowledge of hybrid cloud architecture.Multi-cloud implementation is a plus.Knowledge of DISA STIG security compliance requirements and vendor security best practices (NIST 800-53 security controls).Ability to keep up with current technology trends.Ability to multitask and coordinate with team members.Individual contributor than can influence consensus for a large cross functional team.Must be a US Citizen.Ability to obtain a Public Trust authorization via a government background investigation.Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsProficiency in scripting and automation toolsFamiliarity with DevSecOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)Proficiency in utilizing solutions to implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC)In-depth knowledge of cloud architectureIn-depth knowledge of hybrid cloud architectureIn-depth knowledge of cloud computing platforms and servicesIn-depth knowledge of cloud storage solutionsIn-depth knowledge of cloud networking solutionsEducation/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
