Hourly, Full time (2nd Shift), Mon-Thurs, 2:00pm - 12:30am (4 10-hour shifts) along with the ability to work some Fridays as needed.

The Blender will produce oil blends for various products utilizing both small and large-scale mixing and fluid-handling equipment. This position requires the utilization of all material handling equipment, including operating a Forklift safely and efficiently, as well as maintaining accurate inventory through use of the warehouse management system for prompt, timely, and accurate deliveries to customers. Attend informational, training, safety, and compliance meetings as scheduled.

This position can work any of the three shifts in the Golden Valley Blending as assigned. However, this person needs to have flexibility in their hours to work any shift, weekends, and as business dictates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow written instructions on the Blending Work Order (WO) to produce various blended productsGather raw materials needed for blending a product per work order and blending work instructionsPrepare samples and work cross-functionally with the Quality Control Lab to gain approval before completing WO and moving the product to the next stageComplete tasks as directed by production schedules with minimum supervisionReceive materials and place them into inventory from trucks and railcars using a computerized warehouse management systemUtilize all material handling equipment safely, efficiently, and perform all required safety checks, and communicate the need for repairsPackage bulk material as required by a WO for replenishment ordersFlexible in work schedule due to product schedule and direction changesReport defective materials or questionable conditions to the Blending Manager/Lead & QC LabMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulationsAccept schedule and direction when there are changes in workloadsPerform other duties as requiredAttend monthly departmental and production meetingsMinimal travel required for this position, e.g. On occasion, travel may be required between locations depending on business needsEducation:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience and/or Training:

Minimum 2 years of experience blending materials using precise measurements and methodsTroubleshoot mechanical problems on the production line as they occurUnderstanding of KPMs and manufacturing packaging line processesGeneral Quality & Safety AwarenessUnderstanding of Lean PrinciplesAbility to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Basic mathematical abilitiesMechanical aptitudeForklift OperationTechnology/Equipment:

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 70 pounds occasionally and push/pull drums weighing up to 400 lbs. occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or use hands, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk and climb staircases frequently. Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.

Ability to work flexible hours or weekends, as business needs dictate. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work performed in a warehouse environment and extreme heat (>80 degrees) during summer months. May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shift from one station to another, during the production process. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - safety eyeglasses and safety steel-toe shoes are required. Safety concerns to include heavy products, light and heavy-duty machinery, forklifts, working in a congested and high-activity warehouse. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounter while performing the essential functions of this position.
