Construction Project Accountant
Our client is growing and needs to add a Construction Project Accountant to their accounting team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of construction accounting experience.
Duties:Responsible for the processing, reviewing, tracking and maintenance of all payment applications from subcontractors, accounts payable for purchase orders, and misc. accounts payable for multiple projectsAssist management with profitability projections, manage Work In Process reporting and projections and investigate project variancesResponsible for job cost accounting including budget control, change order tracking, committed cost control, and job cost transfersProcess project billings, owner payment applications and project budgetsCommunicate with project managers, vendors, and external parties to manage draw requests/requirementsInterface with Project Managers, senior management, and contract administrators on all aspects of construction accountingResponsible for full cycle Accounts Payable - inclusive of data entry, check run selection, audit confirmations, vendor statement review and annual 1099 filingsAssure accounts payable is coded to proper GL account number, job number and cost code and subsequently distributing to Project Management team for approvalResponsible for lien waiver generation, subcontractor insurance verification, subcontractor business license, and W-9 updates for vendorsPrepare monthly projection reports or other reports as needed (i.e. open payables, job cost, etc.)Assist in the development for new systems/processes for the departmentTracking and updating various logs (i.e. utilities, lumber, appliance, and others as necessary)Requirements
Minimum of Three years
of project accounting experience in construction industry requireMust be able to meet deadlinesMust be a team playerAbility to take the lead to initiate new processesExcellent communication (written and oral), organizational, and follow-up skillsData entry and attention to detailsVista and Procore Software experience preferredExperience with Microsoft Office; proficiency in Word, Excel preferred
